Testimony

But this is forall the rest of you that are not on missions yet. first off: Take out your endowement as soon as you possibly can Honestly the protection is real I get emotional thinking about it. Temptation is about to hit you very hard in these upcoming months and garments are amazing. 2nd you know its true. WHo are you kidding Read Alma 32 an amazing passage of scripture Faith is not a perfect knowledge. I really wish it was It would make life a lot easier but I think It is part of the Challenge. It is one of the things We teach Every day How to recognize the spirit and I really have started to really Feel the prompting like a solid Pounding in my heart! Search your feelings everytime you pray and make sure to wait and listen. THe Church is Flipping True! 3rd leave as soon as you possibly can. Honestly that is what everyone says. Everyone. minus my companion he likes to study:) you will find more and more excusses to wait and go later but why put your life on hold. I know that I am in the one place in the entire Earth that God wants me to be! 4th Don¡t compare yourself to anyone else It doesnt work we all have such different trials and faith comes a bit here a little here for some and some just know their whole life. One thing a wonderfully strong with spirit missionary from Australia told me after I bore my testmony in The CCM that he thinks that for us that grew up in the church around so much of the spirit it is hard for us to recognize it as easily as those who breath it in for the first time. 5th bare your testmony and when you do plan out what you are going to say just say what you feel and the words will come and you will know where you stand and there will be tears.  I Wish I had a stronger testimony Every DAY but the truth is Life is a trial and often we learn precept on precept. I read the Entire BOM and I prayed And my answer didnt come and I prayed again and again and again and again and I recieved something small a Scripture in D and C but I wanted something bigger and that is What I told The Stake President In my Interview I told him I felt that I needed TO pray for Entire day in the Woods Like Enos. And he looked Me in the Eyes and Told me i ALREADY KNEW and I balled.  Go on A mission! I love you

Joseph Smiths example of work

Well its that time of the week once again...... First off wholy cow that was wierd to read Ben and Matts Email about the CCM. I don´t think I could go back to fake investigadores. Uruguay is Better though:) ANy way lets see Questions from last messages No packages have arrivied as of yet but I have not given up hope I think that the office elders are going through them and taking out all the stuff they want hahah. hopefully tommorw I will get them. Tomorrow we have a class with president with my zone I cannot think of the word in English... pretty sweet. Next week I will be emailing Tuesday and will tell you what the changes are like and who is my new companion. pretty crazy it shoots by. Ben and Matt are about to meet their trianer and Become OROs and I have just become a regular missionary. Happy Birthday Tanner ANd Dad this week I will try to send a letter! but who knows when it will actually get there. First off we had a wonderful new member baptised and confirmed last week. What an awesome spirit he is and how much growth he has already had. A ton of his family turned out for the service. We are struggling a little with the mother she is so kind and nice feeds us agrees with everything we say but still will not come to church we go and get her and she tells us that she will follow us a little later and then does not show. We are really going to focus on members to hermanar. He is awesome loves church and hopefully he will get the priesthood this week! the rest of his family will follow him in the month to come. Their older brother has returned who I am conviced is a future missionary. Consejo de Barrio took some really strong steps in the right direction this week. We were really pleased their was just a lack of functioning well in the last ones that this one really helped becuase we have some good new convirts and some inactives that really need to be talked about more. We had a really Spiritual experience with a wonderful inactive man in the ward this week. He was a missionary here in Uruguay and has lost his way for some time. The missioaries have always gone by because his daughter is on the action list. But we have just been spending some P-day´s at his house learning to cook Empanadas and just becoming really good friends. The other week he informed us that his family member was gravely sick and in the hospital. He asked for us to pray for him and we invited him to fast suday and to fast with us for him. We didn´t really expect him to come but we fasted. He talked about faith and the importance of faith when we pray. well we went by this week to stop by and we just started talking outside I asked how his family member was doing he again talked about faith and how we need to have it in blessings and prayers he told us of a mission experience he had  where someone in his house gave a blessing trying to heal someone and they tried to heal the boy but after he wept and wept because he told them that was not what the spirit wanted him to say. It wanted to release him. The boy died.  He told us how he prayed for his family member and felt a peace. then he thought of him self talked about his testimony how he still has a lot of faith he broke down in tears telling us that he knew that he lost so many blessing for himself and his family and how he had really hurt his family. The spirit was very strong I cried with him. He told us how he wants to come back. We fasted for him the next day, and he still may not´ve come to church but he is that much closer. I love him very much and his family. Lets see we hit the goals of excellency this week which is pretty sweet but it feels bitter sweet because you always know that you have other investigators who should´ve come to church and diddn´t. We are teaching this family of Catholics right now just lovely people it is a little hard becuase If we push too hard they step back and say we are catholic we love for you to come and blah blah but we watched the restuaracion with them sat and she the most active we think really felt the spirit!! something Awesome about our mission is that if you baptise afamily that gets sealed in the temple you can go down to Montevideo and go through with them. You have to get it in your first year becuase they have to have been a member for a year to be able to go through. I was a little bit under the weather yesterday but thanks to the example of José Smith Dad always showed me I will always work on like he did even after he was tarred and feathered. I feel better today. I think it is because I figured out I can by 100 pesos worth of potatoes then reinberse it and then I can eat french fries for really cheap but I think I will try to stop that as of now. THe church is true I love it here!! Oh and Mom I am not quite sure how to do it my Comps mom just ordered them from the Distrubution center here in Uruguay and they sent them here I only need like 2 or 3 pairs. Elder Stewart - Chester

Joy in the journey

Ok this one Will be for the rest of the stuff. First off oh man Dad sounds like a flipping blast we will have to return! And no none of the Packages have arrived as of yet I am hopping they get here tomorrow! we will see don´t worry they will get here its just what will they take out I thought a good idea would be to put a mother mary sticker over all the slits they would have to open might deswade them even more. Well This Semana was A really god one I learned A lot. We began the week by giving Fechas to all of our Investigators one by one And all were really looking up and well. But this week was a little crazy with the Traveling to Mercedes for Stake conference and so many lost there Fechas. But the Truth is we have some really good Families we are working with here. we have 1 baptism this week and this kid is awesome! he Knows by memory the Story of Nefi and just from his sunday school class Alma and abinadi. He is such an awesome kid. He comes from a pretty hard life father passed away he is 1 of 13 kids and only the yougest live at home and he lives in a pretty rough part of town. He is super stoked for the baptism and is already well intigrated into the Barrio. He was the best fellowhipper in our entire ward to the the olther elders Investigadores. His family is coming along a little slower then him. But they are so wonderful the mom has some troubles with some of the cammandments but we´ll get there. Our Golden invetigator is really struggling she is having some family crisisis and so we havent seen much of her. But we are conviced that with some help from the ward she we be an Amazing convert. I learned a ton From last Zone conferenced and both me and my comp. really returned with knew ideas and feeling spiritually edified. We are really going to work with our ward these next couple of weeks and change who we bring to our lessons to really help the Investigador. So we are going to switch lunches with the other Elders and get to know the other side becuase at the moment we have been a really split ward and we have never got to know the other side. Zone Conference was awesome there was only one Elder from my CCM group but it was good to see him. we are both about the same in Spanish. Met one of the best baptisers in the mission he is like a legend its pretty funny he refuses to contact only works through members and inactives. We also got to ride a bus ride all the way to Paysandu It was like a mini bus very uncomfortable but awesome because I got to my Zone a whole lot better. I sat right in the middle of all the Latinos:) I also had two Elders tell me that they hope that they get me for a Jr comp. made me fell really good. Today we went up to Fraybentos and played futbol was awesome our Zone Is the Best. The Church Is True!!! Love Elder Stewart-Chester

Empanada recipe;) can't wait

Well they day afetr mothersday:) Now we have to wait till christmas for the next one but by that time I will already have a year! the time goes by far too fast! I think the biggest shocker was Tanners voice wholy cow I feel like I am going to come home and there will be a little man there Telling me how to opperate the newest 4d TV´s:) Also Baby Flynn is Crazy I feel like I knew him a little though from all the pictures wasn´t too big of a shocker seeing him:) I was super surprised How hard it was not to speak in Spanglish I am so use to talking to my comp and all the Latino comps know bits and pieces of English so ya. Anything I forgot to say.... Ok so last week was a pretty good one we have a wonderfull family that is progressing right now wonderful people  one should be baptised the 26 the rest to follow the 2nd and then Changes!! it flies by. Um We have Zone conference next thursday which should be super awesome! we are going to another zone because you conbine with 1 or 2 other zones for it. So we are going to Paysandu and I am super stoked. I am gonna by these super cheap trucho(fake) Raybands from the market you can get there! awesome. Also I get to see one other from my group in the CCM and see how his Spanish is coming. Oh and all the OROS (greenies) and those who are dying bare there testimonies so I will be doing so this week pretty cool. It kinda screws up our work schedual though we do not have thursday for lessons. Oh I forgot to tell you On the mission you completely overcome all fear of singing infront of crowds. Maybe because it is in a different language or maybe because many many are tone deaf but ya I have already sand infront of intire ward off the Pulpet Come thou fount in Español:) I thought to myself wow Mom would really want to see this ahaha. I am going to take a picture with the Cimeron Puttbulls we have here ahaha they are Illegal in the US because they are too violent but here they are Everywhere. I will try to get a picture as soon as I can. Today me and my comp went to one of our favorite Inactive families in the ward And she taught us how to make Empanadas!!! I wrote down the recipe they were so good! I´ll make them when we get home. You learn so much Practicle things when you are on a mission. from cleaning to plumbing and comunicating and reading when people are lying to you and cooking its crazy I am so grateful for this experience. My spanish Is coming Cant wait till I dont have to stop anymore and ask my comp what Is this in Español. Mom I think we did a really good job with all my stuff my watch is boss and Honestly I feel ready for anything. Lets hope I dont get robbed huh:) I love the Lord the Church Is true and the Spirit is tangible the more I humble myself and search for the spirit I am so much more in tune and It is a powerfull thing. Our first Convert you guys just have the picture of her just got diagnosed with cancer again she has undergone treatment be4. her sun has Luceamia and her duaghter ran away the other day.... never think life is too hard we had a powerful lesson with the other day... She is a strong bright convert  I love you all until next week!!! Elder S-C

Mother's Day skype.

Spoke to Brady today for Mother's Day.  Highlights:  He kept sayin "K" instead of what.  He spoke beautiful Spanish.  He seems very happy and the little boy in the back kept running back and forth accross the screen.  He is getting cold and so I'm going to get him some thermal underwear:)  He laughed when he saw his chubby little baby brother.  He talked about playing soccer and that the children are all ball hogs:)  He talked about feeling like a baby sitter because they have to try to help the members and the investigators keep their commitments.  He showed us lots of hand movements...(using your pointer finger go back and forth with a no no no sort of movement.  Meaning go away we're not interested.  He said when you put your thumb to all of your fingers, face fingers towards the person and rock your wrist...that means...pourquay?  Why?  What the heck?  He said that Bo and Teddy look different already and commented on how tall fletcher is and that his hair looked funny.  He seemed to get a little choked up when he saw the baby a little bit.  His hair is really long and he said that an inactive member cuts his hair...they're working on getting her back to church:)  We sent him these funny easter glasses months ago and he said that this one catholic woman who shakes her finger at them has been visited three times....they joked that this next time they are going to wear the glasses we sent him.  Maybe she won't recognize them.  He said that his area is not as rural as some others.  He said he loves his companion and is worried that his next companion will be a lot harder because he has been so blessed this time.  He said that since they are in a city that it is really used to missionaries and that everyone knows who they are and so it is a little bit of a challenge because they think they've heard it all.  He said they are mostly Catholic.  But used his hands to show quotation marks to say "Catholic"  meaning they are not really.  He is also said it was very secular.  He said that Tate writes him the most next to me and that he loves mail day more than p-day.  SO WRITE TO HIM if your reading this:)  Anyway, I think the best part was just hearing him laugh and seeing his joy in the journey.  I am so grateful for that boy..Why did I get to be his mom?  I'm so lucky.  Happy Mother's Day to me!

1st baptism

Ok First off thank you for all the letters and candy I am going to try and teach the plan of salvation with the sidewalk chalk I will tell you how that goes. Yes all the mail should be sent to the mission home if you would try and send it here to my house It would never ever get here! and boxes are better I heard than packages but idk. wow Its getting hard to not throw spanish in:) Ok mothersday already talked to President about it and I will be making two phonecalls but we are gonna use skype! so you will get to a Uruguayan house in the background! hahah from one of the members I know that both you Mom and Dad have it so ya thats the way we will do It. not sure what time yet we will figure it out and I will tell you next week. Man Its kinda crazy feels like I just left and now I´m approaching 4 months. the Baptism was awesome! we had 3 from our area and 1 from the other district. so 4 in total. I baptised Felipe the Boy the first one that lead us to the family in the first place my comp baptised the friend of the family mom, and her girl was baptised by the our Ward mission lider. What an awesome experience had to memorize it all in spanish and not to mention each person here has 4 names like us:) I was a very white baptism 8 in white:) We confirmed them on Sunday and the work goes forward. Now we just are teaching them the retention lessons after church one and we are going to try to bike out there again in the coming weeks. We are a little worried becuase here comes the chill it is really starting to get cold here it´s a lot like England but we do not have Insulation:) and we couldn´t use the heater becuase our como se dice in inglese our limit on Electricity was not aplyfied until tomorrow. I am very happy:) me and my comp get along a little too well I have a feeling I am going to get a tough next comp Heavenly father is bracing me. Well my comp is the New DL so today we went up to Mercedes for the Zone meeting and while he was in the meeting I got to play football. There was quite a lot of so it was actually pretty sick my shoes are still busted I am going to get them fixed this week when money comes in! Oh actuall something I kinda want is Stephans Hot Chocolate:) Oh and Stamps! We have a ward activity tommorow pretty stoked for that gonna eat tortas fritas and they all will drink mate haha. and probably more futbol. We dont have too many investigators right now so we have been searching high and low. but we actually have a couple of really amazing ones. We have this one lady Maria Ester that after seeing the change in her friends life (her friend was the baptism from the other missionaries in our district, She is awesome was athist her husband died but through the BOM she has a huge test) she said that she could see lights in her eyes:) well she is going through a lot of tough stuff too and so after our first lesson she said she felt peace:) she is awesome we did nothing the lord did all. Remember I love you All Big and Tall Except Fletcher he is OK hahah jk Dont worry about what to write me I like it all its interesting to hear of home remeber to ask me questions about stuff and can explain some of the stuff about Uruguay Like the Giant Pittbull Cimerons we have here!!:) I´m sorry I write slow Not long now and you will see my face on camera.
